Carnell Tate Week 4 Breakout

We flagged the target share in Weeks 1–3 while the yardage stayed quiet. In Baltimore, Cam Ward fired 12 balls at the No. 4 overall pick — and the production finally matched the role.

Dynasty value for first-round receivers is built on sticky target share before the highlight reel shows up. Through three weeks, Carnell Tate already had that signal — 25% target shares in Weeks 2 and 3, WR1 snaps in Nashville — without a true explosion. Week 4 closed the gap.

Against Baltimore, Tate posted 9 catches for 145 yards on 12 targets — 21.5 PPR even with a lost fumble and no touchdown. Cam Ward went 20-of-31 for 222 yards; Tate took 38.7% of the targets and 65.3% of the passing yards. That is not a committee win. That is a clear alpha afternoon for the Titans' No. 4 overall pick. The role we tracked since Week 1 finally produced the box-score receipt. managed two targets. Wan'Dale Robinson had five and a score, but Tate owned the deep and intermediate menu. When a first-round WR and a second-year QB lock in like this, dynasty managers stop asking about opportunity and start asking about ceiling.

Tate graded as an Elite+ 88.3 EIG profile in the 2026 Class Model — route polish and separation traits that held up next to Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, and Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State. The Titans drafted him to be Cam Ward's outside answer. Week 4 is the first full public sample of what that looks like when the throws land. The Target Share Was Always There

This was not a cold-start breakout. In our Week 2 Rookie Leaders piece we called Tate's usage promising and the production TBD — 25.0% target share on a quiet 3-27 line. Week 3 pushed the same story: another 25% share, 6-58, and the cleanest climb-without-a-viral-week profile in the class. Efficiency was lagging. The targets were not.

Season line through four games: 22 catches, 268 yards, 32 targets, 46.8 PPR (11.7 per game). On 119 Cam Ward attempts that is a 26.9% season target share — WR1 territory for a rookie, even before you bake in the Baltimore spike. The market drafted him as a top-four dynasty asset for a reason. The tape and the model agreed; the box scores just needed a week like this.
